  BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Kang is a Ph.D. candidate in cancer genomic study. His doctoral research investigates the genomic characteristics of T cell lymphoma. Before commencing his graduate studies at the Yonsei University College of Medicine, he obtained his Medical Doctor degree from University of Santo Tomas, Philippines and finished US medical license examination (from step 1 to 3) and FSMB certified. He has participated in several cancer genomic research project

  RESEARCH EXPERIENCES

Current Project

  • Comparative Peripheral T-cell lymphoma genomic analysis

It is designed to study similar and dissimilar genomic characteristics of peripheral T- cell lymphoma (PTCL) using whole exome sequencing data (120 samples). Here, it is expected to find the characteristics of SNV, CNV, mutational signatures, Clonal analysis, and mutations in HLA type 1 of different subtypes of PTCL. Features selected from this study will be used in new target therapeutic agents and new subtyping of PTCL.

  • Salivary cancer analysis

It is designed to find the molecular characteristics between two subtypes of salivary cancer using RNA-seq data (26 patients). It is expected to discover marker genes / features that can distinguish between high-grade and low-grade tumor. They could be used as prognostic marker for Salivary cancer.
